Every cycling adept knows the Mont Ventoux and it is 25 kilometres from our doorstep!

Departing from our Bastide there are various cycling routes with loops between 20 kilometres and 60 kilometres or more… col de Propiac, col de Fontaube, col d’Eys and many more will seduce you for great cycling excursions with breathtaking scenery

Cycling on the Mont Ventoux

At the village Buis les Baronnies, 2 kilometres from our house, you can hire all sorts of bicycles, including electric bikes. No obstacles anymore in the mountains for you to enjoy the excursion in all rest.

We have all required maps and are available for advice, tips and explanations.

Culture in abundance

Buis les Baronnies boasts its own theatre group, jazz festival and classical music festival. During the summer months there is always somewhere something going on.

For culture adepts thre are the Roman cities and villages such as Orange, Vaison La Romaine and Nyons, but also little fine picturesque villages like Brantes, Sault, Apt, Montbrun-Les-Bains, Crestet and Sainte Jalle.

By car all well-known Provençal gems are situated just within a stone’s throw: Arles, Les Baux de Provence, Carpentras, Avignon.

Even a one day excursion to the Mediterranean or the Camargue is possible: Marseille, Saintes Maries de la Mer, Cassis …

SPORT - At Buis les Baronnies several recreation possibilities are at hand: paragliding, horse sports, a recently constructed “via ferrata” on the Saint-Julien or mountain climbing on the typical rocks.


A lavish choice for everyone: wines, cheeses, markets offering plenty of local delicacies …

Located at the heart of some well-known wine regions, our B&B offers various possibilities for great wine tasting:

  • Coteaux des Baronnies : Sainte-Jalle / Puymeras /… whole our region really
  • Côte de Ventoux : Bedoin and the villages around the Mont Ventoux …
  • Côte du Rhône : wines varying between simple to most refined can be found in Gigondas, Vacqueras, Seguret, Cairanne, Rasteau, Chateauneuf-du-pape etc.

During the vacation period charming wine pageants are being held here and there …

Typical Provençal markets are held everywhere. At Buis itself on Wednesday and Saturday. At Vaison-la-Romaine on Tuesday. At Nyons on Thursday. Enjoy to the fullest everything the region has to offer.

In the mood for some goat’s-cheese, for an artisan prepared sausage in all forms and sorts, for a tasty olive or the Nyons crown olive, for fresh fruit like apricots and the delicious Cavaillon or rather a ripe coeur de boeuf tomato… it’s all possible with the intense fragrances of thyme, lavender, laurel, marjoram, sage, basil surrounding you.

The “Maison des plantes aromatiques et médicinales” at Buis les Baronnies is also worth a visit.
